Happy Birthday Ashlyn (and Ella)!

This week we have begun a new thing around Landlife. It's called "despoilifying!" This is kind of like "detoxifying!" Reed has pretty much gotten spoiled and used to us answering his every beckon call!

Part of this process means that Reed got to spend some time in the Pack-n-play while mommy did some housework and other things that she needed to get done.

Of course, it's impossible to deny him of every "spoiling" thing. Like, when he wants to take a nap on your chest. Mommy had this opportunity yesterday. Today, Reed took a nap beside me.

This evening while I was rocking him and feeding him his bottle, I couldn't help but think how blessed we are. Notice, I did not say lucky. We are not lucky, we are blessed. Truly and completely blessed by the Lord God! I cannot believe how wonderful Reed is, nor can I fathom how and why He chose us to be his parents! We love this baby so much and tonight as we visited with friends it was so apparent how much EVERYONE loves Reed. It's just a miracle!

Reed helped mommy do some laundry this morning. Isn't he helpful?

Then he helped her unload the dishwasher.

Apparently he thought the dishwasher was moving too much, so he decided to eat it to keep it still!

Today was Ashlyn's birthday, which coincidentally is also Ella's (Reed's third cousin) birthday. She was born at 4:00 AM this morning to Jason and Leslie. I don't have a lot of information, but I am sure she is a doll.

Reed and I went over to GG's house where Ashlyn's birthday party was being held. Miss Jennifer fed Reed his carrots (yes, we found a veggie that Reed will eat).

GG and Mama Jean loved talking to and holding Reed.

Ashlyn said she knew the card was from Reed when she saw the monkey!

Mama Jean holding Reed and Raleigh. Raleigh was, as always, totally not interested in Reed and preferred sleeping!

Sunday is Reed's baby dedication. Aunt Ava and Uncle Brookie are coming tomorrow morning. Lola and Pop Rox are coming tomorrow night.

Hey, what is it about boys and dishwashers??? As soon as the door opens it's like there's a tractor beam and they're beelining it for the silverware.

We had to "despoil" too. Not a fun process, but it does make for a more sane household. :) Thanks again for sharing Reed with us. I am loving all these blogs of little Taiwan boys!! Amazing to think that someday I'll be posting those pics of our little dude getting into the dishwasher. :) Can't come soon enough!!

Blessings,

Rebecca
