Nashville Ink

Reed decided that it was time to practice his recorder today.

He really takes practicing seriously.

He's just a bit of a happy little guy!

Who is totally funny!

Reed is totally into temporary tattoos. So much so, that if we had given him the chance, he would have a complete sleeve of temp tats.

So, tonight, we had our on little Nashville Ink Session.

Abbey got a star on her foot.

I got a frog on my ankle.

Reed was happy with his tats, but he doesn't want them anywhere but on his arms.

And he is serious about that!

VBS Preview

Reed and Abbey came to my workplace today for Corporate Bring Your Family To Work Day. It was fun. Next year's VBS themes were debuted.

Saddle Ridge Ranch looks like it is going to be a fun theme.

While Reed was excited about being at "daddy work" he was more interested in looking for Uncle Bill.

He was very excited when he saw him!

I was busy with the preteen booth.

Reed was not so sure about all those kids that Daddy was talking too.

This year's inflatables are a coyote and a horse. The horse is VERY durable!

Reed made them kiss!

Of course, he drug Uncle Bill everywhere!

AND he was thrilled when he spotted a BIG BALL (globe) on the world bridge.

"A little higher Uncle Bill."

Reed played some gams in the recreation area. Then we went to lunch and Abbey went home. Reed spent the rest of the afternoon with me. He was really sleepy, so he took a nap for most of the time. He played with Kay Kay, Ms. Cheryl, and Mr. James though.

After supper tonight, I was doing the dishes and Abbey was talking to me in the kitchen. Reed had asked to be excused (yes, we already are making him ask to be excused), so he was playing ... we thought.

All of a sudden we started hearing this loud ruckus, but we just assumed that Reed had decided to change bedrooms, and the loud noise was him moving his dresser or something. Seriously, he didn't sound like he was hurt so we just went about our business.

After the dishes, I went outside to finish mowing the yard before heading over to mow Manya's yard. Abbey and Reed headed out to church. When I was finished mowing, I came in and went upstairs to take a shower. When I got there, I saw the toilet exactly as the picture about. I thought it looked peculiar with the lid opened at a 39 degree angle.

Until I opened it! The picture above is missing my can of shaving cream. I had to take it out before Abbey and Reed got home from church and I wanted to make sure that I got a picture of it.

Reed was SO proud of himself! I hated to burst his bubble, but I did explain to him that there were only certain items that went into the potty.

Upon reaching the bottom of the bowl, I realized that the reason nothing was wet in the toilet was because Reed had had the foresight to remember to throw a brand-new mega roll of Charmin (one of the few items that we never skimp on for generic!) in the bottom to soak up the water. This lead to a further explanation that you only put a little bit of TP in the potty.

After all that work, Reed needed a snack of "butter."

Yummy mia!

Do You Think?

Do you think he missed his Mama? I think he was a little clingy today, even though this picture was taken on Saturday.

Home Sweet Home

We arrived home at 1:30 AM on Saturday morning! We were both wiped out, but we did find the energy to sneak upstairs and steal Reed away to our bed. You know that we had to see him!!!

Tonight, Danny and Megan came over for supper and to watch our reality shows. We like to watch Next Food Network Star and then Design Star. Sunday night is our favorite night of television, because our favorite "cleaner" shows are on.

Megan found an Elmo kite on sale at Walgreens, so she bought it for Reed. Reed was THRILLED! He didn't realize that late July in Tennessee is not too windy!

He ran his little heart out and it didn't go very high, but it was a lot of fun!

The extended family detox is not going too badly so far. Our main struggle has been bedtime so far. He was pretty clingy ALL day long which didn't really bother us too much! Abbey might have a little trouble tomorrow since every time either one of us was out of his sight today, he immediately asked where we were.

Thursday's Thoughts

Aunt Ava really came through for me and had some pictures of the little one up on her facebook so I could blog.

She fixed some spaghetti for Reed and I am pretty sure that he didn't eat a lot. Aunt Ava has been a little worried that Reed was not eating enough.

Uncle Brookie must have told a funny joke to Reed while he was eating his "grapies".

They took Reed to throw rocks.

And to the neighborhood park. Reed loves to slide.

"Aunt Ava, are you?"

He got a sucker.

And it looks like they did a little baking as well.

If any of it actually made it to the pan. It looks like Reed had fun licking the spoon.

Yummy!

Then, they took the stroller for a walk.

He does love pushing a stroller.

WE are both very excited to be heading home tomorrow to see him. Even though we will get in after midnight tomorrow night, we are going to rush upstairs and give him lots of kisses. Eating in restaurants might be more peaceful when Reed isn't with us, but I wouldn't trade my life for the world. I have the best wife and best son ever! We are very blessed.

Checking In

Well, we've been pretty busy out here in New Mexico. It has been fun, but we have surely been missing one pint-sized little guy. He, on the other hand, has been having a ball.

He has been playing with toys at Enna's house and she also took him to the dreaded Chuck E. Cheese. We've said for a long time that the only way that he can go to CEC is when someone else takes him. It's just not for us!

She also got him a bajoon. We have had a good time in NM, too. Today, we had a free day after we taught our morning conferences. We got to eat at a really good Mexican restaurant called Tomasitas. I really love their sopapillas!

Today, Reed left Enna's house and went to spend a few days with Aunt Ava and Uncle Brookie.

I know that Reed was excited to get to see his Aunt and Uncle.

While he was at Enna and Poppy's house, he got to see Uncle 'Rae. Reed loves his Uncle 'Rae.

Reed (and all the rest of us) agree that Uncle 'Rae needs a haircut!

Tonight, Aunt Ava and Uncle Brookie took Reed to see some ducks. I am sure that he had a lot of fun looking at the duckies.

Reed has also gotten to see the "oppopuses" while he has been in Mississippi.

Enna said that last night there was a bad thunderstorm and around 4:30 this morning a loud clap of lightening occurred. She said that she immediately heard little feet hit the floor and pitter-patter into her room, where Reed announced that he didn't "yike the funder."

We're not really sure if Reed is having a good time, can you tell from the picture above?

P.S. We told Enna that part of her job was to get Reed to sleep later and to potty train him. I don't think she got the latter accomplished, but he does seem to be liking sleep at Enna's house. I hope the same is true for Aunt Ava.

P.S.S. If you want to see anymore posts while we are out of town, Aunt Ava is going to have to post some pictures, so y'all give her some encouragement.
