Up Close and Personal

A Few black-and-whites from our impromptu photo shoot today. Underneath will be our creative titles.

"When do I get to touch the camera?"

"I love you, Mama!"

"Yeah, Daddy, I'm sure it happened like that."

"Really? We're not going to move in two months?"

"Say 'no' to this."

"Even my tongue is cute."

"Is it time for a bottle?"

"Daddy, you're funny"

"Oooo, gross!"

"America is beautiful, especially upside down!"

"Will you please stop taking pictures?"

Reed Visits Kay Kay

Reed woke up before Mommy got her shower this morning, and instead of resorting to the high chair and biter biscuit, she had another plan.

Mrs. Susan and two of her children were in town and needed to bring over some stamping stuff to mommy. Mommy suggested that they may come over and visit Reed for a few minutes while she got ready. Heather had a great time playing with Bubber, but mommy said that Mrs. Susan said she was a baby hog! Now, where have I heard that before?

I guess Mrs. Susan had to squeeze Reed tight in order to get her chance to love on him.

Reed was mesmerized by Evan. I bet it was his hair!

Later, it was time for Mommy to come to town to pick Daddy up because they were headed to Franklin to do some "cooking."

Kay Kay (one of my coworkers), sacrificially agreed to keep Reed while we were "cooking" at Super Suppers. Ms. Amy, Kay Kay's daughter came over to see Reed. Ms. Amy had Reed intrigued, but it seems that she was also a baby hog!

Reed loves dogs and Harrison was not so much in love with Reed.

While we were at Super Suppers, apparently Reed was having a blast chasing Harrison who was not interested in being chased.

Look at that little face. Isn't it amazing how many people this little baby brings joy too?

Our favorite person at Super Suppers, Mrs. Phemie was so excited that we were coming to fix some meals that she bought Reed a few shirts from Gymboree. She had them all wrapped and ready. Her husband is the producer of my drama scripts for one of my products at work, so we have a connection. They are Chinese and she was able to tell us about a Chinese tutor in the area who is very affordable. We are excited about getting to learn Chinese.

Ms. Amy had to hold Harrison in order for Reed to play with him.

You might notice that Reed got his third haircut today since he has been home, not quite 3 months yet!

When Abbey and Kay Kay finally got Reed and Harrison together, Reed decided he wasn't interested anymore!

Who is more excited in this picture?

Thanks Kay Kay, Ms. Amy, and Mr. Ken for letting Reed have a great time!

Reed's New Digs

Reed has a new sofa. To be honest, I guess it is more like we have a new sofa, but Reed likes it like it is his and his only.

He is also modeling some new clothes that his Taiwanese "brutha from anutha mutha," Kobi sent him. It was a really nice thing for him to share some of his fashionable digs with Reedo.

This pic was just too funny not to post. I don't know what is going on in the picture, but isn't it hilarious?

Naptime is a lot of fun on the new huge sectional in the bonus room! It's a lot of fun to take a little nap on, however, when Daddy wanted Bubber to take a nap with him this afternoon, it was not happening.

So sweet and quiet when he's sleeping! Well, sometimes he's quiet, he is quite the "sleep talker."

He kind of reminds me of an elf in the above picture, what do you think?

Reed enjoyed standing UNDER the table this afternoon. He is really ready for us to unpack the few boxes that are left in the bonus room, because he is just sure that there is something that he loves in them!

He decided that he would help unpack this afternoon. Good deal Bubber, put the breakables out of your reach, okay!

Reed's Doctor Visit

Reed woke up this morning before Mommy had a chance to get her shower, so what was she to do?

She pulled the high chair into our bedroom and put Reed in it.

Now most people would think that this would not be the best idea in the world, because a baby in a high chair with nothing to do could get pretty angry.

Problem solved: Just give the baby a biter biscuit and it's all GOOD!

As previously posted, you all must know that Reed LOVES biter biscuits and he loves to make a mess with them.

A big, big mess!

But a cute mess if I do say so myself!

After the mess was cleaned off the high chair and the baby, it was time for Reed to go to his nine month checkup. Reed was having a great time until it was time for his shot.

He didn't do that bad though and to reward him for his good behavior, Mommy stopped at Sonic.

Now, some of you may think that Mommy rewarded herself with this stop, but that is simply not the case.

Reed got the straw! He LOVES, hear me, LOVES! straws!

Tonight, we went to buy fabric for curtains for the bonus room. We're sending it soon Enna, so get the machine ready, we're dying to get them up!

Reed was so excited to see me, but he was a little unsure of why I was in Hobby Lobby. Reed has learned really well that his voice can get REALLY loud, so he loves to talk with a very loud voice. He was having fun in HL using that voice.

Next, we went to Jo-Ann to get card stock and scrapbooking paper. Abbey and I make our Christmas cards and have been planning them out. As we were thinking about how to do thm and choosing paper, we began to gather up the supplies we needed. Reed was getting a little restless and we both kind of looked at each other and immediately knew what the other person was thinking, "There's no way we can do this, this year!" So, I put away the supplies and Abbey was supposed to call Aunt Ava and request a "Christmas themed" birth announcement. We'll also include a family Christmas picture, but that's going to be it, this year!

Now, you all have been so good lately, that we wanted to give you all something to smile about. A nice Reed video!

More Christmas and Detox Update

Above is a night view of most of our outside Christmas decorations. They are not completely done yet, but this is how far I got tonight between the time I got home from work and when it got dark. Of course, it helped that Reed was asleep, or else I would have been playing with him.

We'll post some daytime pictures soon.

The living room floors were completed today and we loaded in the furniture. It's really starting to look like our house again. We hung pictures, etc. We also put up the fifth and final tree for this year. It's the cross tree, one of my favorites.

Reed's detox from Grandparent attention went really well last night. He finally went to sleep around 9:00 and at 2:00 I hadn't heard him. I couldn't hear him on the monitor, so I went to check. He was sleeping soundly. Finally at 5:00 AM, he wimpered so I went to give him his stopper. That is my wake up time for work, so my wake up call came in a sweet little baby wimper!

Mommy reports that Bubber had a very happy day playing. He was VERY excited to be back home and in his normal routine. He WAS very unhappy when mommy put him in the carseat to go to Wal-Mart. I think that he had his fill of it yesterday.

Will He Ever Meet a Stranger?

We had a long ride back from Mississippi today! We went by Enna and Poppy's church so that they could show off Reed. It was fun because they were SO excited to meet him.

When we made it to Grenada, Reed had awoken from his nap. We decided to stop at McAlister's so that Reed could have a little out of the carseat time and so that we could feed him in a high chair! I ordered and Abbey went to find a seat and feed Reed.

When I got there, Reed was completely enthralled with everything, especially the nice lady sitting behind us.

Abbey tried feeding Reed, I tried feeding Reed, but to no avail. Finally, we turned him around and let the lady Reed was so interested in him, feed him!

They were a really nice couple, and she actually graduated from the same college we did.

They call themselves Ganna Gumps and Gumpy to their grandchildren. When he was done eating his carrots, she said, "What's next?" so, I handed her Reed's fruit and he gobbled it up. Then, of course, Reed was held by both Ganna Gumps and Gumpy.

They were so kind! Of course, that leads us to wonder, when will Reed not go freely to a stranger. I mean, I want him to be a people person, but I also want him to be cautious.

Yesterday, Reed was in someone's arms and he reached for Abbey. That was a good sign. It was neat to see that even though he doesn't get to see them very often, he really loves to be held by his grandparents, aunts, and uncles!

Tonight begins "Baby Detox" (i.e. unspoiling the baby). So far, he has cried for 20 minutes because he wanted to be held instead of sleep in his bed by himself. Let's see what the next step will be.

At 5:00 AM we being "Daddy Detox" (i.e. I have to go back to work). It sure has been nice to spend the past week with my two favorite people in the whole wide world and the rest of our family, but I think I need a vacation from vacation. I will be happy to see a manuscript to mark up in the morning. I think my muscles and joints will like it too, as opposed to lifting boxes, etc.

Reed Meets Uncles, Aunts, and Cousin!

It's taken long enough, but Reed finally got to meet his Uncle Bobby, Aunt Aly, and cousin Joshi! He also got to meet Uncle Trae and Aunt Amy.

Aunt Abbey got to hold sweet little Joshi. She's so small compared to gigantic Reedo!

Reed loves his cousin!

Isn't she just beautiful? We have the most beautiful niece ever!

Reed really loves his Poppy. He smiles every time that he sees him. I think it's because we look alot alike. I have more hair right now, though!

Proud Poppy.

Reed took good care of Joshi.

Uncle Bobby loves Reed for sure! He is more of a baby hog than I am!

Uncle Trae also liked getting to meet Reed, but he was a little preoccupied with getting married!

As if he wasn't under enough pressure, he was really nervous about holding to little ones. One so tiny and one so wiggly!

I can't believe that my baby brother is a Daddy! He sure is a good one though! I'm so proud of him! He is very protective of his baby girl!

Enna was in grandmother heaven. She had both of her babies with her all day!
