To the Zoo

The weather today was beautiful!

Reed was happy to get to go to the zoo with Mama, Cooper, Hudson, and Mrs. Stacy.

He was not thrilled with this attempt by the mamarazzi to get a pic.

Although, the Monkey's hanging were the highlight of the trip.

And did we mention Meerkats and Zebra McIntire?

The reptile room also tickles Reed's fancy. Snakes - sssss.

"Look at dat big ole frog, Mama!" - He is certainly a boy from the South!

Fish and birds!

Stand up here, Cooper!

"I'll help you get it Cooper."

"Uncle Bill, why are you at the zoo?"

Hippos!

Swings!

Y-E-P

We have a word that is apparently way overused to in our house, because we are hearing it WAY to much from the little one.

If you are wondering if that's Reed and Megan under that big red bucket, the answer would be YEP!

Unfortunately, Reed's new favorite response is "yep" to almost anything and anyone. A response, which is terribly rude in my opinion. When we lived in Texas kids called me Jeff and always responded with "Yes" and "No".

In Tennessee, kids call me Mr. Jeff and say "Yes, sir" and "No, sir".

Although there was a time that I didn't care to be thought of as sir or Mister, that time has passed.

Especially when it comes to the kiddo in that red bucket that is sitting where his toys should be!

I can't stand to ask Reed a question and for him to tell me "yep". I always make him correct it to "Yes, sir". He's pretty good at saying "please and thank you" but "sir and ma'am" are real stuggles for him.

Anyone have any advice on how to get Reed to use manners when responding to adults?

Enjoy this video of Reed going down the steps, the fast way.

Playing at Park

Saturday, it was amazing weather here in Vegas, Nashvegas, that is.

Britton's family is moving into the house across the street from us. So, I decided that I could help them by taking Britton to the park with us.

Reed and Britton spent a while driving the tractors.

Britton told Reed that he needed him to help keep it steady.

Then, we went to the swings.

They really had a blast swinging which they did for 30 minutes.

Like the great father that I am, I took them to McDonald's for lunch!

Reed was really cheesing later on!

He enjoyed an Andes candy.

Until Mommy told him that he had had enough.

Enjoy some videos. Just click on the pics below.

Fun With Play Doh

The other day, Reed and Mama had a grand ole time while he played with some playdoh. He loves that stuff.

This weekend, Reed and I are bachelors, because Abbey is once again traveling teaching conferences. It's a sacrifice but it helps us with our debt snoball, which is slowly whittling away. Hopefully, we'll be calling Dave Ramsey up by the year's end and yelling, "We're Debt Free!"

Last night, we had to take Manya to Sears to pick up her grill. It is really big.

Then we ate at Chick-fil-a.

We came home and watched Nemo. Reed really loves Nemo.

Reed's sleeping last night was spotty at best. He woke up every hour or so and yelled down some sort of request. I kindly yelled back for him to get back in bed!

More evidence that Reed has mastered the art of climbing. Hide all snacks!

Whoa! Where'd We Go?

So very sorry for the really long delay in blog posts! It has been a CRAZY past week. On Sunday night, we found out that my grandfather had passed away. We left town the next morning and forgot to take the camera with us! So, for several days we were gone and didn't have a way to post pictures. It was great to see family and friends, but it was sad as we sad goodbye to my last living grandparent. Is there a such thing as an "orphan" who doesn't have grandparents?

The picture above by the way is from the other day when Reed cleaned up and put every toy in the big red bucket.

When we arrived home, it was time to consignment shop and work. Abbey traveled to South Carolina to teach conferences and I worked and shopped at the best consignment sale in Middle Tennessee and possibly the entire state. It was really great. I got 50 articles of clothing for Reed for $124. I also got a lot of his Christmas presents.

Today, Reed and Abbey just played and had fun all day. Tonight, we went to Sunday School training at our church.

Abbey also made a delicious Hawaiian Pizza recipe that she got off E-Meals . It was wonderful!

Finally, enjoy a little sampling of our little favorite son in the world and his new talking skills.

Update

We're still here, but my (Jeff) grandfather passed away last night after a several year fight with Alzheimer's. He's reunited with my grandmother and uncle, but we are mourning his loss and celebrating his ultimate healing. We'll be in Mississippi for several days.

At the Park

Today, Reed and Abbey headed to the park. I think that they had a great day! Great day, other than the fact that Reed refused to take a nap this afternoon.

Last night, we Abbey and I went out to eat to celebrate our 8th Wedding Anniversary. It's hard to believe that we have been married for eight years. In eight years we have lived in 3 states and 5 houses. Thankfully, we seem to have settled down in the past few years. In eight years, we have both received our master's degrees and have traveled overseas twice. We have been so blessed with a great relationship with each other and with our friends and family.

I think that one of the most amazing accomplishments or blessings that we have received since being married is the cute little one in the picture above! What an amazing blessing!

What's Up?

Reed has been completely cracking us up lately. He has decided that he is going to try out for "Dancing with the Stars" next season. He dances and laughs and plays.

And he is completely silly! He loves to laugh and make us laugh.

He has also become very attached to trains and trucks! He always wants to play with them.

Then, he takes a break to run round and round in circles really "fass" like "yightening maqueen".
