A Baby Shower

Kay Kay was so very kind and offered to throw us a baby shower for the two new boys!

We had a wonderful time and got some amazing gifts.

We were finally able to meet Jessica's fiance` Will. We are so happy for her.

Kay Kay had a beautiful selection of salads: Chicken Salad, Crab Salad, and Pimento Cheese. Also some yummy fresh fruit.

We got some really nice gifts and everything we got was totally usable.

Debbie and Trudy had a good time.

We were glad that my mom and the boys' Enna got to come to the shower.

Abbey has been in New Mexico all week, so Enna has been here to keep Reed. She left today, so tomorrow Ms. Madrian is coming to keep Reed.

Reed also scored some sweet gifts at the shower.

Trudy was the designated opener of Reed's toys.

Will and Jessica are getting married next June. It's going to be a beautiful wedding, I'm sure.

We got lots of diapers. I love getting diapers as gifts. So practical.

We're so ready to get Reed's brothers home. Court is Tuesday, so be praying!

Kay Kay had the adorable shirts made for the boys. They were so wonderful!

The shirts are hand appliqued. They are really nice.

Ha! I just got that Will and Nash's shirts say "I've LANDed". I knew it said "I've landed" but somehow missed the play on our last name.

Tomorrow, Abbey comes home! We're so ready!

The Best Park Ever

On our last day at Ridgecrest, Reed and I ventured over to Montreat where we discovered the most beautiful park in a wonderful setting.

Not only did the park have lots of different play equipment it had a beautiful creek that was perfect for wading, and it snaked right through it.

Needless to say, Reed had a blast!

They had different levels of park that were appropriate for different age groups. They even had a fun sand pit for little ones.

Reed wanted to do it all.

He didn't quite grasp the concept of this one, but he still had fun.

This week had been ultra busy, so that is why I have not posted.

Today, Abbey is helping give a shower for some Megan and Adele. Their babies are due really close to one another, so a combined shower just made sense.

Abbey is going to New Mexico on Monday, so Enna (my mom) is coming up to help with Reed next week.

Tonight we are having another shower at Kay Kay's house. She was very nice to offer to do a shower for the two boys.

We've also been heavy in the throws of consignment stuff.

We haven't had any updates this week from our agency about the boys, but the court date is set for April 27.

We did find out this week that our application for an amended I-600A is in one of 326 boxes at the new "centralized" immigration office. I called and spoke with a guy who basically told me that there was nothing he could do and there was no way to know where our stuff was. He also said that he couldn't track it. I asked to speak to his supervisor.

The supervisor called me back and told me about the new process. He said that they were processing new applications first and then pending ones. Great. That meant ours was pending and not priority. He did say they knew where our box was, so that if need be, they could pull our file for expedited service.

So, pray that our approval will come soon!

North Carolina Update

Yesterday morning, Reed and I met up with my cousins Margie (and Stephen), Ivy, Abby, Corbin, and Xander.

Reed and Corbin had a great time playing with one another.

I had a good time catching up with my cousins that I had not seen in a while.

Xander is a sweet little guy.

Ivy had to open up some candy for Reed.

After Cracker Barrel, we headed to see my Great Aunt Shirley, Cousins Hope and Grace Ann.

Reed was really impressed by the way Grace Ann spoke with her mom. Cousin Hope is deaf and Grace Ann knows ASL really well and communicates wonderfully with her parents.

Later, we played at the playground.

Reed had a lot of fun letting cars go down the slide.

He was very intent.

And at the same time, he was a monkey!

He then went to the swings where he had a complete blast.

I love this pic!

Afterwards, we headed to the auditorium and sat on the rockers while we waited on Mama and Uncle Bill to get out of class.

Reed and I have had a lot of fun hanging out with each other.
