Miss You Mommy

I forgot to bring the camera cord in. It's in my, wait, I think that I just remembered that it is in my briefcase. That's where it was, but sorry, no new pictures tonight. Hint: Reed rode in a really long black car today. Can anybody guess what it was?

Anyway, I decided that I would map out how spread out our family is currently.

6124 miles from Taipei to Portland

1952 miles from Nashville to Portland

7810 miles from Nashville to Taipei

So, Abbey and I are currently nearly 2000 miles away from each other. Abbey is in our house in our bedroom, while I am in the worst Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in.

Reed and I are just over 6000 miles away from each other.

Abbey and Reed are nearly 8000 miles away from each other.

The neatest thing though! We are all under the same moon and same sun. In the grand scheme of things, the miles are a lot, but they don't really matter. It's where we each other is in our hearts that matter.

Jeff, this one was sweet and a little sad. It reminded me of the movie, "An American Tale" and the song, "Somewhere Out There". Isn't it amazing that in the grand scheme of things that you are all in the eyesight of our Heavenly Father and that right now HE holds each of you in his hands. Can't wait for Reed to get here. Love you, MOM

Did Flat Reed get to ride in a stretched limo?
It is amazing to think how we can be thousands of miles apart and still see the same moon, sun but mostly able to worship the same God.

We love Flat Reed to pieces, but it is nice to see REAL Reed. He looks so much older and more inquisitive in that little photo at the bottom of his letter.

I hope you ALL THREE are under the same roof soon. So much less lonely than only being under the same moon.

What a CONTRAST that must have been for little Flat...straight from spinning around in the baggage claim carosel into a limo! THAT'S what I call a rag to riches experience!

(I sure hope you all are keeping little Flat his own scrapbook so that little baby Reed can one day look back on all of Flat's adventures while he was serving as official stand-in! You can share many a bedtime story with Little Reed, as you let him pour over the photos of Flat Reed's Adventures! (You can just print out pages of each of your blog entries, slide the pages into sheet protectors and snap them into a three ring binder. Easy Peasy and your son will love it! My kids LOVE browsing through the notebook of our blog page printouts.))

Since I am already busy making unsolicited suggestions anyway, one other thing(!)...
I think it would be GREAT if you started using the LABELS feature on blogger. That way, new visitors to your blog could with a single click on the label "Flat Reed's Adventures" for example, see all of your Flat Reed entries gathered together on their own page--because even though Flat Reed is the star of your blog now, one of these days, he is going to be retired...but it would be nice if new visitors to your blog could easily revisit the Flat Reed Sagas, too. Labels are great...particularly the older and more lengthy your blog becomes. You could have another label drawing together all the memorable posts centering around your adoption process (the post when you first announced your intention to adopt, the post when you decided where and how, the post when you first saw Reed's photo, posts about getting his room ready, etc!) all linked together in under the label "Reed's Adoption" or something like that.

I know that would be really TIME CONSUMING to go back now and label the most significant past posts...but, it doesn't take a moment at all if you do it as you go (just tag each new post with a label if it is one that you want preserved in its own category). And it makes it so much easier for new readers to catch up with your blog in an easy, organized way...and really "get to know you".

Okay, I won't give you any more unsolicted advice/suggestions (PROMISE!)...since I am sure I have used up my lifetime allowance in this one single comment!!!

3-4 years ago when I traveled for work, I stayed in Hampton Inns on purpose because they had a 100% satisfaction guarantee and would refund all of your money if you weren't happy. Once I got into a room really late and one of the 2 beds was never made. I slept in made one, and mentioned the problem at checkout. I slept free that night because of it! Anyway, if you have any real problems, let the staff know.
