All About Nash

Just look at it, doesn't it melt your heart? Nash's smile is one of the most beautiful sites I think I've ever beheld. He has beautiful white teeth, a create arch on his lips, but most of all, it's the dimples!

Nash is a loving little boy! He's amazing. He is very smart and is learning a LOT from his big brother. Some of those things, we probably could do without Reed teaching. Nonetheless, it's good that they have each other, because they REALLY love each other ... A LOT.

If Nash isn't around, Reed is usually looking for him and vice versa. They are quite funny to watch play. Of course, they have tiffs, but they are brothers and I expect that they will have tiffs for pretty much the next 18 years minimum.

Nash has adjusted so well to being in our family. I think that he has certainly developed a lot of comfort with being secure in our home. When we first brought him home, he cried out a lot in the night as if he was having nightmares. He hardly ever does that anymore.

He values his sleep, unlike Reed who could care less about sleep. Nash finds it nearly impossible to stay awake in the car if Reed isn't in there with him. He is also the only one of our three who will take a good nap.

He has GREAT manners. He is really good at saying "pease", "tank oo" and "skuse pease." My favorite thing that he says, however, is "lub you." It will melt your heart.

He calls us all by name:

"Mama!"

"Ree!"

"Weeuh!"

and I get to be two names. Sometimes, I am "Baba!" and sometimes I am "Daddy!"

Reed thinks it's really funny when Nash calls me "Baba" so Reed then also calls me "Baba."

He loves playing outside and playing with the trucks and trains. That reminds me, probably his most clear words to say are "Monster Trucks." See the influence that Reed has had on him?

He loves Reed and Will so much. He always gives them hugs and kisses. He tries to comfort them when they are upset. He gets really anxious to give Will his paci when Will is crying.

He takes his cues from his big brother. Reed loves having a partner in crime.

We are so blessed.

Oh Baby Powder!

5 minutes. That's all it takes. 5 minutes of silence and a 3.5 year old will turn your home from clean to a puffy flurry of powder!

Nash was in his room playing. Will was taking a bottle and Reed ... well, Reed was quiet.

Abbey decided to go and check on him and this is what she found! A big baby powder bonanza that stretched from downstairs to upstairs.

It was all over the couch.

All over our tables.

All over our floors and in the crevices of the wood floor.

And then it traveled from our living room to our bedroom.

In the bedroom, it was spread pretty well.

When Abbey called me downstairs, all I could do is laugh. You know, I've recently been reading on this book "52 Things Kids Need to Know from their Dad." One of the chapters is not yelling about spilled milk. You know, I'm really trying to get over yelling too much.

When I laughed, however, Reed very seriously looked at me and said, "This is not funny." (this picture is from Will's room. I didn't get a picture of the chair, the glider, and of course, Will's baby bed, also covered in baby powder.)

I think that Abbey and Will enjoyed watching me vacuum up all of the powder. Thankfully, Uncle Bill took Reed and Nash to give them a bath while we cleaned.

This was perhaps the most artistic of the powder creations.

And then there was the powder in the potty!

So, when we asked Reed about why he did it, it became clear to us that he's watching WAY TOO MUCH Scooby Doo. He said, "I was leaving clues." Yes, my son, was leaving us clues to find with baby powder.

All About Will

The first couple of years of LandLife were more of just a chronicle of my thoughts about life with a few posts here and there from Abbey.

Then it became consumed with information about us and our adoption process.

Quickly, it moved to being ALL about Reed and that's just the way it was for a little over three years.

Now, there's two more ultra special little boys in our lives and hearts, so the blog that used be wholly consumed by one cute little guy is shared with three.

It's literally a miracle that this blog doesn't explode due to the cuteness factor.

Anyway, this post is only pictures of Will. It's his turn in spotlight (plus they were the only pictures on the camera.). If we can get Nash to stand still long enough, we'll get a bunch of shots of him and do a "just Nash" post.

Will had his 6 month check up yesterday and had to get lots of immunizations. The poor little guy did not feel great for the rest of the day and night. We kept giving him tylenol to help him feel better hopefully.

Will's weight is in the 90 percentile of American babies, which just blows my mind, until I pick him up and I'm remind that he's 20 full pounds of solid lovin'.

Will is super sweet, extremely cuddly, and smells just like the sweetest bit of baby you could ever want. I just absolutely love all of my boys. They are such a blessing.

The other day, Mary Beth Chapman (wife of Steven Curtis Chapman) spoke in Chapel at work. She talked about the fact that they had three children naturally and three children supernaturally.

I can't tell you how thankful we are that God chose to give us supernatural children. Our boys, Reed, Nash, and Will, are each miracles. Reed's love and articulation are amazing. Nash's sweet spirit, cute dimples, and melt-your-heart smile will almost blow you away at times. Will's soft voice and cuddly disposition just make you want to snuggle all day.

I hope you can read the verse on the back of his shirt, if not, here it is:

God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:31

Yes, our boys are very good, as with everything God has made, but I think we're most thankful for our sweet little guys.

Before I sign off, I need to send a special note to our Hannah's Hope friends who read the blog daily. We love you! Thank you for taking care of Nash and Will. Reed is so thankful for his brothers. Nash is the first person he asks for when he wakes up and the last person he talks to before going to bed. We love you. Thank you for doing God's work. Will also sends a special smile and hug for Mei Mei his special mother who took care of him from birth.

Oh Happy Day!

This super cute little guy has been waking up too early every morning this week! We'd really love it if he would sleep a little bit more!

Thankfully, he is happy when he wakes up for the most part. And, he's adorable.

Sir Nash is almost always adorable, as well, except when he lets out one of his really high-pitched cries, which thankfully are few and far between.

His smile will melt your heart though. I don't think that I can adequately describe how absolutely beautiful his smile is. It brightens the darkest room.

He is really picking up English quite well. He seems to understand more than he says. Thankfully, he has a big brother who LOVES to speak for him.

Reed and Nash love to play together. They play really well, except when Nash finds a toy that Reed has not played with in ages, and then all of a sudden it is Reed's favorite toy.

Ultimately, Reed loves his brother, and Nash loves his brother very much. They are also very affectionate to Will.

Nash likes to be silly and he spends a good bit of time trying to make us laugh.

Apparently there is a universal language for boys, called "Trains." Our kids love their trains.

And MONSTER TRUCKS!

Reed is really loving going to preschool and he is doing really well. Hopefully, he is obeying his teacher better than he is obeying us!

Tonight, Abbey and Will had some fun with the camera.

He is so sweet.

This week is so busy! I think that we need a few more hours everyday.
