Ball Caps, Flu Shots, and the Zoo

The other day, Reed and Nash discovered my ball caps. I have several caps that I like to wear on Saturday mornings.

The boys had a lot of fun entertaining Will. Life is so much fun with so many kids.

Later Reed wore both caps while they went to the doctor's office for flu shots. Nash also had his well-visit while they were there.

Nash had quite a bit of fun while hanging out in his diaper while waiting on the doctor.

Something about our boys and a rubber glove. The boys love us to turn them into balloons.

Reed thought he was an innocent bystander, until it became evident that he, too, would be getting a flu shot.

This is Nash's feelings about the flu shot.

After the doctor it was time to go to the zoo. Abbey and Miss Madrian took the boys.

Like Reed, Nash also LOVED the reptile room.

Reed and Nash looked at all of the snakes, spiders, and creepy crawlies.

Nash was enamored. It was his first visit to the zoo.

Reed told Nash about the finer points of petting a goat.

Nash was all for it.

In other news, this has been yet another busy week at LandLife. I had writers in town for a new preteen product my team is working on.

Abbey started her new job at the church which went wonderfully!

The boys started Mother's Day Out which they also loved.

Thankfully, we have a VERY low-key weekend planned.

Candace's Pumpkin Party

The other night, we headed over to Candace's Mom's house and attended an awesome party Candace has been working on for quite some time. She threw a pumpkin carving party. Now, I'm personally not really into sticking my hand into the guts of a pumpkin and the smell of pumpkin isn't really appealing to me, so I just sat back and chatted it up with anyone without a knife in their hands. I really had a great time despite the look on my face in this photo. Stacy, Hudson, Wesley, and I got chilly so we wrapped up in a blanket.

Britton, Reed, and Connor sat on the hay for a photo.

Mrs. Katrina took us on a hayride. It was a lot of fun.

Reed had a BLAST!

Nash was interested in everything that was going on. It was his first time to visit the country.

The little kids had mini pumpkins to paint and they had a lot of fun. It was such a fun time for everyone.

Nash and Reed painted the most adorable pumpkins. I think that the boys had a complete blast. All three of them fell asleep on the way home.

Brandon, Uncle Bill, and Abbey carved pumpkins at our table. They were very serious about it.

It's amazing that Abbey was able to carve anything with her little ones constantly checking in on her.

Uncle Bill had to clean his pumpkin and Brandon's pumpkin out.

The finished pumpkins. My personal favorites are Melita's in the top right corner. They are so great. Would love to have them on our porch.

Will and I just chilled out most of the time while the big kids played. The venue was perfect for the 3000 little boys that were there.

The boys took turns pulling each other. It was really sweet to watch them sharing. Britton was a great puller, Reed did a good job, and Nash tried his hardest, but he's still a little small.

The rest of the weekend was spent going to Larry's for breakfast, then to Uncle Bill's to hang out for a bit. Then to Amy Parker's wedding. It was a wonderful. Lots of funny moments.

Today we had out last Sunday at our church, because as I mentioned in an earlier post, we will be going to a new church where Abbey will be working starting tomorrow.

This week is going to be very busy. I have a writers conference this week for a new preteen product that I am really excited about.

Home from Birmingham

We've been in Birmingham since Monday and I've been so busy that I couldn't blog. We were at Kids Ministry Conference and it was WONDERFUL.

The boys traveled well. This was Nash and Will's first long-term car ride and they did excellent.

I am not quite sure how Abbey kept from going crazy with three little boys in a hotel room, but she did an excellent job. She figured out different times to go out and let the boys run around.

One day, she took the boys to CFA and let them run around in the playland. They played for about 2 hours!

Will is so laid back, he just sat there and took in all in.

I taught 2 different conferences and really enjoyed connecting with the children's ministry leaders. I also always love catching up with my friends in ministry.

Everyone loved getting to meet our boys. So many of them have known us since before we even had Reed, they enjoyed getting to know Reed, and now Nash and Will.

Last night was the VBS musical premiere and it was really good. The big boys loved watching the performance.

We finally made it home today around 2:00. We stopped for lunch in Cool Springs at McAlisters.

In other news, Abbey has accepted the position of Associate Minister of Children at a local church. It's actually the church we were at before we started attending the church we are members of now.

We're really excited about the opportunity for her to have this position. It's part-time and flexible, so she'll still get to spend most of her time being a SAHM.

It will also be good because all 3 boys can be in MDO at the church when Abbey is working. Nash needs the interaction with other playmates.

Abbey dressed the boys alike every day during the conference. They were really cute in their little matching outfits.

The boys were so excited to get to play in their backyard. I'm sure they were just wanting the vitamin D.

Calm. Cool. Collected. Abbey has everything under control.

Weekend At a Glance

Yesterday we woke up and went to Larry's. Uncle Bill spent the night on Friday night to help me with the boys while Abbey went out for girls' night with Miss Candace.

We were really excited about getting back to Larry's because we have been missing it quite a bit. We love that place. It's the perfect small town Saturday morning breakfast spot.

Reed became obsessed with the camera while we were there, so you might see some really odd photos.

I told Nash that sometimes his smiles look like he is in pain.

Uncle Bill likes Larry's a lot.

Will was super sweet. He was really smiley all day.

Reed likes the chocolate juice at Larry's a lot.

Today Abbey's Uncle Edward, Aunt Darlene, and cousin AJ came over. They were passing through on their way home to Dyersburg.

It was good to see them.

The boys had a lot of fun playing with AJ.

We leave in the morning for Kids Ministry Conference in Birmingham.
