Beach Days at Uncle Bill's Beach House

The boys could not wait to get out to the beach.

Some of our readers, may remember that when we first went to the beach, Reed was extremely timid around the water. He really didn't want anything to do with it.

He has completely changed his feelings about the water. He loves it. It is so exciting to see him playing in the ocean with Nashy.

Tuck has been a little bit into the the sand, but he is also a baby so it is a little hard for him to understand what is going on,

Will has been probably the biggest surprise. He is not as into the whole beach thing as one would think. The child is usually a glutton for rolling in the sand, but he is not so much into the endless supply. I think that he is a little overwhelmed by the vastness of it all.

All in all the boys are having a great time.

Uncle Bill and the Boys

Uncle Bill went to Hawaii a couple of weeks ago and he brought the boys each matching outfits home.

We thought the beach would be a great place to make their debut.

Reed and Uncle Bill love to have a lot of silly fun.

Uncle Bill loves the Tuckmeister.

Love them.

Uncle Bill's Beach House 2012

Four years ago, we started a tradition of going to the beach with Uncle Bill. Every year, we have had a different adventure. This year, our adventure included adding Ms. Candace and Tuck to our trip.

We left Friday and stayed the night at Hampton Inn. The boys loved the hotel. We stopped for Lunch in Foley on Saturday at a Japanese restaurant that we eat at every year.

Will and Tuck were probably the most ready to get here. Not because they really understood what was going on, but they were so ready to get out of their car seats.

Nash and Reed, on the other hand, were so excited that they could almost not contain themselves.

Our Sweet Kiddos

Little Tuck is so sweet. He is one of the most adorable little guys I've ever had the privilege of parenting. Well, make that one of the four most adorable little guys I've ever parented.

He is sleeping pretty well, but still wakes up in the middle of the night. Although he did sleep the entire night the other night. That was super welcome because Will also slept the entire night.

The other day, abbey and the boys went to pick strawberries with Michelle and Caleb, and Stephanie and Amber Joy

Reed and his buds didn't seem to be too interested in helping pick strawberries.

They were far more interested in running and jumping and playing.

Will, on the other hand, was very, very much interested in eating the strawberries. If you have ever met Will, you know that he doesn't miss many opportunities to eat.

Will loves his little brother. I think that he likes being a big brother. Tonight he tried feeding Will his apple sauce. However, it was really more of us trying to keep us from gagging him.

This weekend is Will's second birthday. We cannot believe that he has grown so much. Well, I guess I should clarify that the above picture is not Will

This would be Will. Almost always with food stained all over his face.
Sorry, I have been so bad at blogging lately. I'll try to do better.

Recent Happenings

Our sweet little Nash is quite the builder. We have had the the best time watching Nash love on baby Tuck. Nash doesn't ever just call him Tuck. It's always baby Tuck.

Abbey is an amazing mother. I know that is not new, but it is amazing. She gets the kids up and dressed and to school in time everyday. And she has kept the laundry up to date and the house is way cleaner than I would think with a family of four preschoolers.

Tuck is adjusting to life in the Land house really well. He has been sleeping pretty well. The first couple of nights he didn't sleep really well, but he has started sleeping much better.

Reed is still showing about as much interest in his baby siblings as he always has. Not much. I think that he is most interested in making sure that he and Nash are never separated. They love each other very much.

I am very proud of how Will has adjusted to being a big brother. He is doing much better than I thought he would do because he was quite the "mama's boy" prior to Tuck coming home. He now really likes being a big boy.

This week has been busy and it is now only Wednesday. I've been really busy at work. Abbey has gone back to work at the church and the boys are back into their routine. The early spring has really confused Reed who keeps asking if the neighborhood pool is open.

Abbey went to Walmart with Will and Tuck today. I told her that I didn't know if I should be proud of her or check her into a mental ward. I never want to take Will to Walmart. He is a wild man.

We are going to go to the zoo on Friday with some Taiwan adoptee friends. We are excited about that. The boys always love to go to the zoo.

Since We've Been Home

Well, we've been home since last Thursday, and boy have things changed. We have been having a ton of fun as a family of six. Nash absolutely loves Tuck. Loves him.
Will is adjusting well to Tuck. Probably a little better than I thought that he would. He does sympathy cry and there are some obvious signs of "I need attention."
Friday all of the grandparents were here. They enjoyed being with the boys for sure.
Friday was such a beautiful afternoon that we did some rearranging in the backyard. It was lots of fun to get stuff rearranged.
We moved the playset down to the other end of the yard and then moved the trampoline further over to the back of our backyard. I don't know if I have ever mentioned that our backyard is the smallest part of our yard. We have a very large front and side yard. Our backyard is SMALL! So when you put a deck, a trampoline, and playset in the backyard, it is smaller!
Reedy has done really well with the addition of Tuck. Much better than when we added Will and Nash! He still doesn't have as much interest in Tuck as Nash does. He is a good biggest brother though!

 Nash really loves this guy!
Lola is still here helping us with the adjustment. It is great to have an extra set of hands around as we figure out how to parent four preschoolers.
Tuck seems to be teething because he is chewing on anything that he has get his hands on.
Tuck is so sweet. We are still trying to get his formula adjusted. He is waking up for a bottle in the night, but sleeping fairly well. He has already been to his first photo shoot. He will be in the winter Babies - Twos leader kit for LifeWay.
Nash is one of the most amazing big brothers. He loves Tuck. Yesterday I was holding Tuck and Nash got into my lap, looked at Tuck, and said "You're precious."
Nash also had a photoshoot yesterday. He is going to be on the cover of the pre-K Sunday School curriculum. I think the photographer eventually got a non-posed smile.
Reed is supremely smart and is very athletic. He has loved this weather so that he can practice baseball. While we were in Taiwan, Nash and Reed started soccer practice. I can't wait to go to their next practice.

And then there is Will! Our cute little humorist! He keeps us all on our toes. Last night we were in the kitchen and heard sort of a double thud. I went to the stairwell and saw Will halfway down laying horizontally across the step. He looked at me and said "Hep me! Hep me!" I picked him up and he said "Thank you!" I said and told him that I realized that we know he can talk, he just doesn't!
