Nastics Practice: Take 2

Reed went to gymnastics the other day again. He was not really excited on this day. In fact, he wouldn't go out there until Kori came and helped him.

Reed had a lot of fun once he started, though.

Reed has great big muscles, so he is going to be a good gymnast.

Reed was a little nervous, so Kori held one hand and Kolbi held the other hand. After that, all the kids held hands.

Kori is a great spotter.

Monkeys Hanging

Yesterday, Reed and Abbey headed to the zoo to see monkeys hanging. That's what Reed immediately says as soon as you mention the word zoo.

Reed really loved the bird sanctuary yesterday. People gave him some nectar and the birds came right to his hands and ate their lunch.

Reed was also especially interested in the giraffe's yesterday.

He even asked the zookeepers what the giraffe's names were.

As always, Reed loved the snakes and spiders. I don't know why he loves snakes and spiders so much.

The play area at the zoo is always a huge hit.

Reed loves the alligator that he gets to climb on in the play area.

This was their longest trip to the zoo yet. They stayed for 2.5 hours. He had a blast.

He even got to play in the reeds. I must say that I think our Reed is the better looking reed.

But he sure makes that reed look cute.

I love that smile.

Play Ball!

We've mentioned before that we (as in Jeff and Abbey) are not the most athletic people in the world.

In contrast, our favorite little boy is quite athletic.

He runs fast, he can already throw a spiral pass with the football, loves baseball, and can make a basketball hoop with ease.

To say the weather over the past few days has been beautiful would be an understatement.

Reed loves to play some ball.

He also loves to be outside.

But he doesn't love sun in his eyes.

Notice how Reed is holding the Tee in the picture above. I told him to use both hands when batting, so he held the bat with one hand and the Tee with another.

Swing, Batter batter, Swing!

It's outta here!

Keep your eye on the ball.

Guess how far this ball went?

Playing baseball is fun and tiring.

I think that he has really good follow-thru.

I think holding his tongue out is completely nurtural. (Definition of Nurtural - its things that Abbey or I do that Reed emulates, proving, in our opinion that Nurture is stronger than Nature.)

Reed had to take care of the yard for a few minutes. You can't even imagine how badly I wish that mower was real.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

We're a little bit late this year with putting up the Christmas trees. We put them up on the first Friday last year, but this year, we've waited until today.

One little boy named Reed was THRILLED with the Christmas trees.

He ran back and forth to all five saying "Wow!"

And, since it is an unusually warm November so far, Reed wore his diaper while we decorated.

He loves the lights. I think he lights the colored ones more than the white ones.

He was thrilled when he found out he had his own tree in his room.

He was especially excited to see that his tree had frogs all over it.

Reed had a lot of fun decorating the cross tree.

And then hiding behind the tree in our bedroom.

We had a lot of help with the decorating this year: Uncle Bill, Manya, Danny and Megan, and Miss Candace came over at the end of the decorating.

I think that Christmas is going to be a lot of fun this year.
