My Super Sweet 2 Birthday!

Abbey did the most amazing job planning Reed's birthday party. It was a blast!

She made a "hot air balloon" cake for him. It was really cute.

Reed was super excited when he arrived at the clubhouse for his birthday party. He was mesmerized by the balloons and bubbles everywhere!

It was very exciting to him.

His friend Karsten came from his school.

Of course, his very best friend Britton was there too.

Miss Betty, his Sunday School teacher, Raleigh, Miss Jennifer, Miss Holly, Nana Sprinkles, my goodness, there were so many people there to help Reed celebrate.

Even Kay Kay came!

Pop was excited to see Reed.

Aunt Ava personalized Reed's shirt.

Reed's friend Haden from school came to the party and helped Reed open his presents since he wasn't really into opening them.

Reed and Britton were interested in some of his presents.

Britton and his Auntie Meghan gave Reed this cute red car. Reed loves his new car.

Aunt Ava and Lola helped Reed put together a puzzle.

Poppy and Reed were silly!

Enna and Reed admired his MANY (seriously) balloons!

Reed's birthday was a great success! I think everyone involved had a great time!

A Full House!

Reed decided to wake up early this morning, so he was pretty sleepy when he got to Mother's Day Out. They said that he fell asleep during lunch and didn't wake up until almost time for Abbey to pick him up.

Question: How come Reed will sleep at MDO, but he won't take as long of a nap at home?

When Reed and Abbey got home, they decided to enjoy the beautiful weather and play outside. Reed was, of course, happy to oblige. He loves to be outside.

Reed had a fun time blowing "bobbles." He was being a little greedy with the wands though! He wouldn't let Abbey have one.

Tonight, Abbey hosted a "Tastefully Simple" party, so Britton, Mr. Danny, and Mr. Brandon all came to hang out with me and Reed in the family room. Raleigh was also here, but she preferred to stay downstairs.

There were a lot of people here, and Reed was so sleepy!

After playing a while, he decided it was time to go to bed. I fell asleep, so I didn't get to eat any of the Tastefully Simple food!

But, thankfully, I woke up and was able to blog!

Answer to question from a comment from a reader. You do multiple transactions so you can use the $2 off $10 as often as possible. Doing 5 transactions, means I saved $10 off my purchases yesterday. Make sense?

10 Things I Love About You (Number 5)

In honor of our 1st Reediversary, we put flowers in the church.

5. I love the way you dance!

Reed loves to dance and we love to watch him. When Reed is in the room and some music comes on, just be ready, Reed is going to boogie.

Sometimes, all you have to do is say the word, "Dance" and it gets his booty shaking.

It's really cool that at least someone in our house has some rhythm.

We had an extremely busy day! After breakfast, I got the flowers ready for sanctuary. Abbey took a shower and got ready. After she was done, I got ready and then we took the flowers to the church.

We also had to work in Abbey's Sunday School room for a little bit. Then, we had lunch and headed to Raleigh's house for her first birthday party!

I can't believe that it has been 1 year since Raleigh was born! I remember visiting her in the hospital really soon after she was born. I got to see her get her first shot. She is such a cutie!

Raleigh really racked up the presents!

Reed really enjoyed playing with Raleigh's toys.

He did not really enjoy wearing the little hat!

Fun at Church

At the last moment this morning, I decided to put the camera in Reed's bag. We put it in every once in a while, in hopes that one of Reed's teachers will take some pictures. Today, in Extended Teaching Care, Reed's teachers decided to take some pictures of him.

We had a fairly busy day today. We woke up and went to eat breakfast at Hardees. Then, we headed to church and dropped Reed off. There were a few tears, but things are getting better.

Abbey and I taught our Sunday School classes and then we had to go and keep the pre-k class for Extended Teaching Care. Since those kiddos will be going to big church soon, we were asked to take them into the song part of the service. We did and they were very good.

We came back to the classroom and we did some fingerpainting and stamping. Today, they learned about how David Played the harp for King Saul, so the kids painted things that made them feel better.

Mary Catherine's mom had ETC today in Reed's class, so MC stayed to help her. Reed love MC.

I guess you would like someone too, if she was your own personal lazy-boy.

After church, we headed Catfish House for lunch. We were able to have lunch with Miss Candace and the Wrights, so Reed got to see his girlfriend, Raleigh.

Of course, Reed fell asleep on the way home, which meant naptime immediately upon arriving home.

After nap, we went to the Batson's for supper and then to church. Britton's grandfather was ordained as a deacon tonight and then we had a homemade ice cream fellowship. It was yummy! I loved the butterfinger ice cream our pastor made.

Friends!

Tonight we had supper with our friends, Jeff, Holly, and there three beautiful daughters. We also were excited to have with us Nana and Putty Sprinkles.

Since we have been married, which is 7 years next month, we have been blessed with awesome friends. A common thread of finding our great friends have been from our Sunday School classes. In Mississippi, our best friends were from our young married Sunday School class.

In Texas, most of our friends were from our church, however, some of our best friends were Blanton and Jaime whom I went to seminary with.

Since moving to Tennessee, we have been blessed to be a part of two wonderful churches. One of the greatest blessing of our first church was the opportunity to be a part of a young married couples class led by Putty and Nana Sprinkles. Although, there was no way to know they would be so important to us at the time, they became two of our favorite people in the WHOLE world! They have been with us through every life circumstance we have faced since moving here and we love them so dearly.

(This is a picture of Britton's new house!)

Though we have many great friends from our first church, a young couple from the class that we are extremely fond of are the Wrights. We love Jeff and Holly and their girls. In fact, Raleigh is Reed's girlfriend. We love opportunities to get together with them because we have a lot of fun cutting up!

Our current church has been an amazing blessing to us. We were not really that excited about switching churches originally, but we just felt that God was showing us that we needed to leave through a series of circumstances. We were not prepared for how we would be blessed at our new church.

We found several wonderful friends in our Sunday School class. There are many but two couples in particular are the Batson's and the Oliver's. Tamara was one of the first people who reached out to us and now she and Abbey are incredible friends.

We were thrilled when we learned that their baby boy, Britton would be only 3 months younger than Reed. Reed and Britton are already great friends, they get SO excited when they see each other. I don't think that I have ever seen kiddos their age interact with each other as well as they do.

The coolest thing is that they now live less than a mile from us! The Oliver's are our newest friends, but we have really enjoyed spending time with one another. They are moving three streets over from us at the end of July. We can already picture Reed sneaking off to their house whenever he needs to be spoiled!

We love all of our friends and hopefully you have the opportunity to have some great friends too!!!

So, how about you? Where do you find your friends? How often do you hang out with your friends?
