Update from New Mexico

We are here in New Mexico and have had a nice time so far. Yesterday, Reed and Enna left our house at the same time we did to go to the airport. Enna reports that Reed was a very great traveler and that he was a very sweet boy.

They stopped on the way home to see Joshi, Uncle Bobby, and Aunt Aly. This was a lot of fun for Reed.

Reed was not really impressed with Uncle Bobby's police dog though.

We had a nice flight into New Mexico. We stayed in Albuquerque last night and drove into Glorieta this afternoon. We stopped in Sante Fe for some good eating at Tortilla Flats.

Joshi and Reed were excited to see each other. I think this is a really sweet picture. Today, Reed and Enna went to the Natural Science museum where they have huge aquariums and Reed got to see a real-live "oppupus". Then they played with the water hose.

Tomorrow, I believe that Poppy is going to take off work and they are going to have some more fun.

We will begin teaching tomorrow morning at 9:15. Attendance is down this year. I guess the economy has slowed some of the visitors, but there are tons of 'Fuge kids here to make up for the lack of adults!

Oh What a Busy Few Days!

Reed has been busy for the past few days and so have we.

Yesterday, Abbey had a "surprise location" birthday party for my 30th birthday. It was a great day!

The party was Hawaiian themed and was in a beautiful setting at the Ferland's home around their pool. It was very enjoyable and lots of funny stories told.

My mom came up to celebrate. Since we share the same birthday, it was good for her to be here.

Reed took some time the other night to move all of the balls from his ball bucket into his Elmo chair.

And then he put them back again. It was pretty funny.

Reed is going to spend several days at Poppy and Enna's house and we are going to New Mexico. Thankfully, Manya will be here to watch our house. It's great to have great friends a few houses over.

After being at Poppy and Enna's for a few days, Reed is going over to Aunt Ava and Uncle Brookie's house.

Tonight, Reed asked me if Aunt Ava was going to have fireworks. Strange request, I think.

This is the first time that Abbey and I have been away from Reed for more than 1 night (I think). It's a little bit scary, even though we trust the people that he is going to be with. It's just a little weird. I don't think anyone ever prepared us to love that little guy so much.

He is going to have a blast though. I think that Enna and Aunt Ava have LOTS of things planned for Reed.

Hopefully, they will take lots of pictures so that we can blog about it!

Reed is excited about going on a trip.

Little Busy Boy

Reed woke up this morning before I left for work at 5:30. That was too early, so Abbey pretended like she didn't hear him. He went back to bed and slept til 8:00. In Abbey's words, "she's got his number".

This afternoon, we were working in the garage and Reed had snuck a pacifier out in his pocket. I think he tried pulling it out when he didn't think that we would notice.

Reed loves playing outside.

When we came in tonight, he wanted to read about a 1,000 books. We were able to read many books, but the funniest thing was when we were reading "Goodnight Moon" and he was trying to grab the balloon.

Despite his crazy acting when we are eating out, he is the most amazing little boy to parent. We are so completely blessed by him. I love the way his eyes light up when I get home. I wouldn't trade it!

We're Still Here

Sorry it has been a long time since I posted. We were in Ridgecrest over the weekend and had painfully slow internet. It seemed sort of like using dial-up.

The above picture was taken on my 30th birthday! EEEK!!

Today Reed was playing on Mama the "jungle gym".

He has been extremely active over the past several days. He loves to run and jump and play.

When he got in this position today he said, "Mama tuck!" It was pretty funny. He loves to laugh. We love to laugh at him.

Lately, his behavior has become a total disaster when we are in a restaurant. We're not exactly sure what is going on, but it is not good at all. I think we're soon going to become a "take out" only family!

In a restaurant, this sweet face goes away and turns into a really loud little boy who wants to "run round and round in kircles."

We'll try to be better about posting for the rest of this week.

Big Boy Haircut

Reed got a big boy haircut tonight.

His long little locks are gone, well, at least they are gone for three weeks until they grow back again.

Reed seems to be happy with his haircut. At least he won't wake up with a sweaty head. Hopefully.

Woodchippers

Today, when I got home from work, Reed and I need to go to CVS. We had to get some more of the good deals that CVS has this week.

When we arrived home, we took a few minutes for self-portraits. Reed and I then went for a walk while Abbey continued to cook supper.

Reed was being pretty silly this afternoon.

Apparently, he decided that he was going to have a little "come apart" while he and Abbey were in the grocery store this morning.

But, he was all smiles by the time I got home.

He was really funny this afternoon. He knows our routines so well.

As soon as I came in the door he said, "Daddy shoes off!" He wouldn't let me do anything until I took my shoes off. We don't have a "shoe" rule at our house, but he knows that I can't wait to take mine off!

He loves to play catch.

Reed took a few minutes to drive his plasma car that Mrs. Brenda gave him. She got it from the manufacturer who wanted her to feature it in the magazine she edits.

It's really cool, but he doesn't quite have the hang of it just yet.

While we were outside, Reed heard a loud noise and he wanted to know what it was. I explained to him that it was the tree trimmers that were cutting down the two trees that have split open near our clubhouse.

We walked down to watch them.

Then we came back and Reed enjoyed playing with the water fountain.

I tried getting him to sit in front of the vinca, but he wouldn't sit there long enough for me to get a picture of him. Thankfully, I did get one of him in the petunias.

Fourth of July Reunion

Yesterday, we headed to cousin Molly's house for a fourth of July family reunion with Pop's side of the family.

In the picture above are Mimi, Aunt Sib, and new baby Ava.

There were two inflatable water slides. Reed really enjoyed them after he finally got ready to get in.

Check out that smile.

What a slider.

"Lola get in, peeaasseee!"

Cousin Brady was loving the slide.

So was cousin Hugh!

After a while, Cousins Jason and Leslie showed up with Ella.

Cousin Karen holds new baby Caroline. Sweet and petite.

Apparently Brady's toys are perfect for Reed because he played with everyone of them.

We had a great time.

Here's the entire group! I look pregnant. I've got to go on a diet!
