Innovation

Since the weather has been so cold, Reed has not had a lot of opportunity to play outside. Luckily, he has just a few toys that he can play with inside.

Unluckily, he has figured out how to go up the slide the wrong way. Is it normal that a not even two-year-old can figure out how to climb up the slide?

Abbey reports that he was quite whiny today!

I can also agree that he was not the happiest little boy this evening. He wasn't really fussy, just whiny.

He had a lot of "chocolate juice" today. That would be "chocolate milk" but he calls it "chocolate juice."

Enjoy the video.

The Unveiling of Potty

Reed and Mama had a day-in since it was so cold outside and snowed a little bit.

Reed at his snack at his table by the window and looked at the snow falling.

Reed loved to look at the snow, but if you recall from last winter, he didn't like being in the snow. Maybe this year, he will enjoy the snow.

He was quite excited.

And mesmerized.

At some point today, Reed excused himself from Mama's view.

Then he came back and told her "poopoo".

So, tonight,

We brought the potty out for the first time!

Of course, it will probably be a while before Reed learns how to use it, we are trying to get him comfortable with it.

A Weekend Review!

We have had a wonderfully low-key weekend. We started Financial Peace University last week, so we are working on a new budget, which cut out a lot of our "out to eat" money.

So, we stayed in and you know, that really didn't bother us so much.

Reed played hide-n-go seek for a little while.

He has been playing really hard. He loves and loves to play.

He learned a new game, called bounce on the train.

I'm going to try to upload a video of this game in a minute.

All of that playing meant that a nap was a certainty, not a choice. Naptime on Saturdays are good for all of us. Reed and I get to spend quality "sleepytime" together. Abbey also gets some time to do work.

His smile brings so much happiness to our life. Right now, he is walking around our family room where he just asked me to take his shirt off. He's wearing socks, khaki's and no shirt (he's so fitting in to the South!) and he is pointing to his B (belly button) and screaming Ewww! He is so silly.

We also scored two new balloons this weekend. That, of course, would probably be the highlight of Reed's weekend, as it seemed that every time he woke from a nap or a night's sleep he immediately exclaimed "Bijoo!"

He enjoyed a bowl of cereal for a snack last night.

Reed hasn't seen Beeyull in a while so he took two of our old cell phones and tried calling him.

(Note to grandparents: We realize Reed has a cough and we are giving him meds.)

Sweet Face!

The lack of post last night can be attributed to my second visit to the sleep clinic. I was hooked up to all 6500 wires and then to the CPAP. Then the band was wrapped around my chin to keep my big mouth shut while I slept!

The good news is that I felt better today than I have in years. The even better news for Abbey is there is no way possible to snore!

Reed is probably going to be scared of my new mask and Abbey is definitely not going to think that it is romantic!

Abbey has been having a busy few days getting our menu planned for the next couple of weeks. She has another Writers Conference coming up in a couple of weeks, so she has to be getting prepared.

She also had to hold down the fort last night while I was in the sleep clinic.

Reed just concentrated on being the cutest little boy this side of Nashville.

It is freezing cold here. So cold, in fact, that our schools are all out tomorrow due to the "extreme" cold!

Correction: It is BELOW freezing cold here!

Reed is busy trying to keep himself warm by running around constantly and cuddling up with us.

He is repeating every word you say to him and he is recognizing animals, colors, etc.
He is very smart.

He is really excited about his birthday and every time that he sees his birthday invitation, he walks around singing "birday, birday."

Some have asked if I am still CVSing. The answer is of course. After coupons and ECBs, I got all this for less $3.50 and earned $5.00 more ECBs than I spent, so I guess I was paid $1.50 for this!

Reedy!

Yesterday, Britty came over and spent the day with Reed and Mama.

Reed loves his new table and chairs.

Reed has a hard time putting toys in the box.

But no problem putting himself in the box.

Seriously ...

It ain't easy being this cute!

Reed wanted to read his bird book. He loves the "ostick".

Reed loves to read.

And run!!! Boy, does he love to run!

He loves his bear! He is so sweet and gentle to it.

He also loves "b-ball".

He can make an unconventional hat look stylish!

In blue or YELLOW!

Even cheap sunglasses look good on him!
