A Grand Ole Time!

Today we woke up at Lola and Pop's and headed to Mississippi. We stopped and saw Reed's great-grandmother, Mimi.

We also got to see Lola's great friend, Mrs. Katie.

After we arrived in Jackson, I set my conference up for tomorrow with some help from Abbey and Reed.

We saw Aunt Ava briefly and then headed to Enna and Poppy's.

Uncle Trae was at Enna and Poppy's when we got here and then we went to eat supper at our favorite Mississippi Mexican Restaurant, Fernando's! It's the best, so if you ever here, you have to try it!

When we got home from supper, Reed played with Enna and Poppy's neighbor-boys, Jaidon and AJ.

Reed loved feeling like he was a big boy!

He chased Jaidon and AJ all around Enna and Poppy's big backyard.

Reed has enjoyed playing with Enna's stash of toys.

... And now it is 10:12 PM and he is still running around. Of course, he did sleep from Grenada all the was to Jackson today. That's a pretty good nap for those of you non-Mississippians.

Poppy gave Reed a bath tonight.

After the bath, Poppy made Reed a cape from his towel. Reed LOVED being a super-hero.

To answer a question from a "reed"er, Kerry, the spots on Reed's eyes were mosquito bites. He does have really dry skin, but so far the eczema has been minimal.

Here he comes to save the day!

Okay, I'm going to reattempt to get Reed to go to sleep now!

Wednesday Workings

First of all, Carol, Lee, Leeann, and Jack!!!!! I was so glad to see a comment from y'all! You know y'all are one of my favorite families ever! We should have supper together so you all can meet Reed. Maybe Leeann could talk to him about going to sleep!

Abbey and Reed went swimming today while I was at work. It was, however, a disaster according to Abbey. Apparently Reed decided that he would rather be out of the pool than in the pool. To say our son is expressing his independence would be an understatement. The weird thing is that he is completely dependent upon us at bedtime. Strange.

After lunch, Tamara, Abbey, Britton, and Reed went to Target in H'ville to pick up some items for a Bible study that starts soon at church.

They were home by the time that I got home.

After I was home for about an hour, I had to go to teach a conference at a church in Hermitage. On the way home, I washed and vacuumed the van.

Abbey and Reed took some Sunday School stuff over to Danny and Megan's since we are going to be out of town next week in Mississippi! I had to mow the yard before the HOA sent us a letter. That would be bad because I am the one who makes the newsletter and have to always remind people to mow their yards!

Now, Abbey is packing and I am blogging. Thankfully, Reed is sleeping, but it was about 45 minutes of ginormous tears and wailing. Get ready Lola, Pop Rox, Enna, and Poppy. Bedtime isn't pretty right now.

On a side note, although I hate for Hurricanes to cause danger and destruction, Dolly did get my brother sent home for a couple of weeks off the rig he works on. That means we'll get to see him while were in the Magnolia state.

Officially, Officially, Official

Does the title make you think something official happened? I hope it does.

Reed is officially resourceful as demonstrated in this picture of him drinking his milk sans hands.

Reed is also officially a "playa". Why? Well, for the past, say, oh 10 months or so, Reed has had pretty much the same bedtime routine. Except for the past 4 nights, he has decided that he didn't want to go to sleep. It's not that he isn't sleepy, he's exhausted, it's that he doesn't want to be put down.

So, I think he's trying to play us, but it's really hard to listen to him scream.

Especially when you are used to see a face like the one above.

The most important thing is that all of our adoption papers are for Reed are officially done! Mrs. Lisa came for her last visit today and we are done! We have completely met every requirement by Taiwan and our agency to be completely done with his adoption! And although this visit was pretty much a formality, it is still nice to be done!

By the way, did you notice that we let Mrs. Lisa shop in the CVS Ministry?! We LOVE Mrs. Lisa and we were happy to be able to bless her with some goodies.

We took Reed out to celebrate. Can you guess what he ordered?

By the way, Hannah Claire's grandmommy is now a CVSer and I applaud her efforts to get some diapers for that sweet baby girl!

A Fashion Show, Cousin Ella, and a little CVSing

This $2.00 PJ and nightcap combo looked a little scary laying out on the floor, however, you have got to admit he is precious in this outfit and it was ONLY $2.00!!!

He looks like a little country elf in this hat.

Jackets can get a little pricey, so I thought this cute little big bird yellow jacket was a steal at only $2.00!

Uncle Jason said this red corduroy Polo longall looked a little like a mechanics jumpsuit, but we think it will be a great church outfit for $5.00.

This little pushtoy was for Ella and I got it for 3 bucks!

Yesterday, Ella and Reed enjoyed lounging around in the kitchen for a while since we were waiting on breakfast to get ready.

Ella liked her new toy.

I think that Reed was telling us something, but I'm not exactly sure what.

We decided to take Uncle Jason, Aunt Leslie, and Ella to a local dive for lunch since we were grilling burgers for supper.

Ella thought the food was good.

Do you a.) think Reed was trying to give Ella her paci or b.) give it a whirl for himself?

Ella is a super sweet little girl.

Last night, Reed started thinking that he was not going to go to bed. Ella, on the otherhand went straight to sleep.

It was after 10:00 when Reed finally went to sleep.

Uncle Jason tried telling Reed it was time for him to go to sleep. Reed wasn't hearing it.

Reed likes to remind people that he is number 1.

Uncle Jason, Aunt Leslie and Ella left to go back to the Magnolia state after lunch today. We were sad to see them go, because they were so much fun to have. We wish they lived closer!

And for the CVSing today:

3 packs of 34 CVS brand diapers (that 102 diapers!) they were $18.00 total and then we got $5.00 in ECBs back.
8 bottles of ColorVive Pro Conditioner they were BOGO at CVS and I had 4 BOGO coupons so they were free.
2 Bottles of VEET. I had 2 $2.00 off coupons and got $5.00 in ECBs back.

After using 3 $3.00 off $15.00 coupons in 3 transactions, I spent $3.20 out of pocket, but not really because I had CVS giftcards!

I've got another transaction to do this week, but I need some coupons from the paper today.

Consignment Sale (Woo hoo!)

First of all, thanks Michelle for letting us have the pass! It rocked!

Now, here's a few questions. I have been crucified by my wife, cousin Jason, and wife Leslie for this little sleeper. First of all, they say it is too big and then they say that it is kitties on it. What do you think?

Here's the full view of the outfit along with a little pumpkin outfit that I also got harrassed about.

What do you think about these PJs?

Abbey says that these look like PJs. Leslie contends that it is play outfit. What do you think? It's a Le Top, which is pretty expensive.

Opinions?

Just a few of the Polo purchases and you know we LOVE Polo!

We like all of these little outfits.

I bought too much, but one of the problem is that I always try to envision Reed in the outfit and no matter what, it always looks cute!

The above was Jason's special request for Ella. Leslie wasn't thrilled.
