Friday, thou hast come!

At LandLife, we were a little hesitant to believe that Friday would ever come!

This week has been so busy and we have not accomplished nearly as much around the house as we would have liked.

Thankfully, though, Abbey was able to complete a writing assignment.

Reed has been a great sport, hanging out with different friends each day. We really do have the best friends.

Tonight, we went to Babies R Us to look for a new baby bed since the old one was recalled (Jardine).

But, we didn't find anything that tickled our fancy, so we decided to pass on the selection and keep looking for "the one" that our little girl will sleep in. Hopefully, for longer than Reed slept in his!

We came over and headed over to Danny and Megan's because I wanted to borrow their shark steam cleaner.

It was amazing at cleaning some spots off our hardwoods and it worked wonders on the ceramic tile in our bathroom.

Reed was exhausted tonight, so I was barely able to get him in bed and pray with him before he dismissed me!

Hello

So, if you are wondering what is up with the cutest little boy in the world, you will be happy to know that he is completely happy with the nice warm weather.

This week, our incredible friends have been lifesavers when it comes to helping our family. We were so busy last week with VBS and the weeks leading up to it had consumed Abbey's time. This week, she had to work on a writing deadline.

Our dear friends have stepped up to the plate and have been keeping Reed so that Abbey could get her work done.

Of course, I am sure that you can all guess that Reed has not minded being with some of his favorite people in the world at all!

Just in case you were wondering, we have entered that point of parenthood where we have to censor ourselves very carefully, because Reed repeats everything that we say, especially anything that we REALLY don't want him to repeat!

Back in the Saddle

Sorry that I have been a laggard blogger over the past couple of days. I'll take several whips with a wet noodle.

We have been very busy getting everything closed out with VBS and getting back into the routine of things.

It's been a while since we've updated you on adoption things, so I think it's time that we clue you in on some things.

We finally completed our homestudy about a month ago.

We received word on Friday that the homestudy has been reviewed and had to have a few very minor changes.

We had our contract with our agency signed and notarized today.

I am sending the first payment in tomorrow.

So, in about a year ... we should have our referral for our little Ava.

So, what has to happen in a year?

Lots of prayer! More than last time. This time, we don't have the savings, so we are going to be praying for God's providence and we know that He will provide. We are planning some fundraising and have been in contact with several granting agencies.
We will be letting you know more about that in the future. But for now, we ask that you pray for God to show us our path and help us to know what avenues to pursue and, well, you know, patience!

Updates

Sorry for the lack of updates for the past few days. We've been entirely too busy. I'm planning on giving a full fledged blog tomorrow night. Have a great day!
