Reed Visits Chuck E. Cheese

Okay, Okay ... so Reed didn't visit Chuck E. Cheese. Those of you who know us, know that we HATE Chuck E. Cheese. We pretty much dislike any kind of cartoonish type characters, but ESPECIALLY those of RODENT decent!

So, what's a boy supposed to do? Well, since he is in LOVE with all things paper, we decided to let Reed play with the Chuck E. Cheese coupons! That's about as close as we foresee Reed coming to CEC for a LONG time! Wouldn't it be great if he never had to experience it?

"Is Chuck E. Cheese as yummy as this coupon?" Reed said.

"Well ... their pizza is much like cardboard." Mommy replies.

"Da da." Reed says <---- This is NOT A JOKE! He said it today, several times!

Okay, let me get back to the point. Did I mention that Reed said "da da" today?

"Mommy, did you know that you and Daddy could get surgery to make your eyes see right?"

Apparently Reed has heard us fumbling for our glasses in the middle of the night!

Reed has become quite clingy to his mommy and daddy over the past couple of days. We think it is because he is trying to cut a tooth or two. It seems like this tooth cutting business has been going on for a long time with no results. We are hoping that he will get one soon and relieve some of the pressure, or at least some of the slobber.

So far, Reed loves fruit: apples, peaches, and pears and HATES all things vegetable: peas, carrots, green beans, and as of today, squash! HE is more like me that we originally thought!

We took him to Home Depot Expo and Home Depot, today to look for some things for the new house. It is so neat to watch people as they walk by him. He ALWAYS elicits smiles, oohs, ahhs, and well ... "y'all sure are feeding him, aren't you?"

  1. I'll make you a deal -- let me borrow him for the day and I'LL take him to Chuck E. Cheese for you. I actually LIKE their pizza and I'm a freak for Skee Ball. Two birds -- one stone: Reed gets to experience CEC and I get some hands on experience of what a baby is like again. :-)

OK,Jeff, in defense of Chuck E Cheese or maybe because it was the only place BACK THEN....but you DID love and enjoy all of the rodents and the pizza and all of the NOISE...and those crazy characters singing....but most of all...you enjoyed the bowling for tickets game...where you spent $15.00 to win enough tickets to buy a prize that cost less than a dime. IT was sooo much FUN!!!! Love, MOM

  4. For what it's worth... we've never gone to Chuck E Cheese with any of our 4 kiddos. I just refuse.

I'm with you, Reed is better off eating the coupons, they are probably tastier!!! Haha!!

  6. As as parent, I lived in fear of CEC until I went there on a playdate. Now, DH and I are hooked on the arcade games. Watch out or it could happen to you, too...

  7. All rodents?? You don't like Mickey and Minnie?? I actually like their pizza but the place is out of control and you have to watch your kid like a hawk. Oh sure, they stamp your hand at the door with matching numbers...but a 16 year old is the one checking... LOL
