Yay! Yay! It's Saturday!

Today was a great day. I woke up around 7:00 and decided to use that time to pay some bills while the rest of the house was still quiet.

After a little while, I decided to wake Bill up to ask him to follow me up to the dealership so that I could leave Abbey's van to be checked out. The check engine light came on last night and I don't like that kind of stuff to happen!

We came home and got ready. We then went to Larry's for breakfast. It's a great place for breakfast right here in our hometown. It was delicious and as always, I was very full after we left.

Abbey had to go to the city library to do some writing, so we went to the AT&T store because I thought I had talked myself into getting an iPhone. In the end though, it still seemed like too much money for the monthly expense so I decided to leave. When did I get so old and mature in my decision making? I must admit sometimes being financially wise doesn't necessarily seem like the hippest thing to do, but it certainly makes it easier to pay the bills!

We grilled hot dogs for lunch and then got the call that the van was ready. It was not a major issue, but cost a little bit, so then I was glad that I had left the iPhone at the store!

We stopped by the car wash that Reed calls the tunnel and washed the van and Uncle Bill's SUV.

It was time for nap or rest when we got home and thankfully, Reed went to sleep! Woo Hoo! That means that I got a nap! When we woke up, Abbey was home from the library, but she was still writing. So, Reed and I went outside to play with his slip-n-slide that Manya had bought him last year on clearance.

Reed had a blast as I am sure that you have seen from the photos. What you can't see is that he played with his slip-n-slide for 3 hours!

Britton came over and played with Reed as well.

Danny and Megan brought pizza for supper and we ate and visited.

After supper, we headed to DQ for some ice cream dessert.

Click on the picture above for a picture of Reed on his slip-n-slide.

It was a fun-filled day and now it is time to go to bed. I'm starting to see how the nap for Reed is a detriment as he is wide awake!

What We've Been Up To!

I am sorry to say that this blog is not going to be overly exciting. We got home on Saturday night and pretty much vegged out. We went to church Sunday morning and then Sunday night we went to church at First Baptist Church in Joelton. That's where I was on-staff as children's minister. They had a wonderful Children's musical.

Monday, I was watering the plants and our yard with the sprinkler and Reed asked if he could play in it. Although I guess that I should clarify that Reed actually asked to play in the "sprinkUler".

Britton came over and then the rest of the Batson family came over and ate supper with us. We had grilled hot dogs. It was nice, but Brandon and Tamara might not have thought so much of the meal because it was their seventh anniversary.

Tuesday was our regular Chick-fil-a dinner and we enjoyed a delicious meal of chicken sandwiches! We came home because we were really excited about the Biggest Loser finale.

(PS - Reed likes to line up his trains.)

On Wednesday, Reed and Abbey went to the zoo with Tamara, Britton, and Paityn. Abbey fixed some really good pork bbq in the crock pot and then she and Reed went to church. I have designated Wednesday nights as yard mowing evenings, since I don't have to worry about Reed running outside of the house.

Tonight, we had dinner with Brea to get ready for consignment sale tagging and that was nice. Uncle Bill graciously agreed to spend the night with our family and come to keep Reed while we were there.

And after all that, we can say for sure ... Thank Goodness tomorrow is Friday.

Vacation Day 8-9: We're home

We made it home safely tonight. I know I promised to not be a lazy blogger, but I am tired. We rented a redbox movie three days ago and are just now getting around to watching it, so here's a slideshow of our last day on the beach and a few from our ride home.

Vacation Day 8: Family Photos

Okay, it's late and we have a long journey home tomorrow, so I am not going to post pictures of our beach escapades today. I am going to take the easy route and post a slideshow of our photos from our "beach photo shoot" this evening. We've had such a great time and we're so thankful that Uncle Bill chooses to bring us along on his vacation!

Note: if you would like to view these photos in a larger format and at your own pace, just click on it and you can scroll through the album.

Vacation Day 7: A Different Routine

We've been trading up breakfast cooking duties the past couple of days. Uncle Bill fixed some pancakes one morning.

Reed has enjoyed being silly while in the condo. Because I got much more sunburned than I thought I had, this morning we went to the outlet mall for a little respite from the sun.

We got some great deals at the GAP outlet. It has been the longest time since I have shopped there.

Abbey caught this cool shot of a raindrop hitting our balcony the other day. I love the beach houses in the background.

We got a few great pictures of Reed and Abbey this morning.

And a family picture.

And a couple of good ones of us.

Mr. Silly in his Tow Mater underwear.

Reed enjoyed the snack of choice for the week, "Ice Krispy Treats."

Our boy looks good in all kinds of light.

So beautiful. However, he did not take a nap AGAIN today!!!

Tomorrow we are taking a clock down to the beach to make sure that we get him back in time for naptime. He is very much into his routine.

We did go to the beach late this afternoon. Here are our flipflops all in a row.

Our condos.

The absolute cutest beach bum ever!

I have no idea what this picture is about, but isn't this wonderful?

Today was the first day that Abbey brought her nice camera down to the beach, can you tell?

Some other people built a fortress.

Reed has eaten a lot of sand this week.

Uncle Bill flying his kite.

I can't get enough of that smile.

Until tomorrow ...
