Midweek Update

Reed had a very busy day today.

First, he woke up and had breakfast.

Then, he and Mama looked for the camera.

They couldn't find it.

They went with Britton and his Mama to the zoo and met Stacy, Hudson, and Cooper.

They played, saw Monkeys (hee hee), Meer cats, and snakes (ssss .... Ewww!) and had a picnic.

He came home and took a nap.

I came home, Reed was still asleep and Abbey was cooking supper.

I looked for the camera and finally found it. Anybody want to guess where? Leave a comment.

We ate supper in peace ... I mean, we ate supper while Reed finished his nap.

When Reed woke up, he ate supper and then we went to church.

What?

What? You might be wondering has happened to us over the past couple of days.
What? Could keep us from blogging about the most cutest little Asian-American in the world?

Well, there's really no excuse.

For the past two nights, I have fallen asleep while putting Reed to bed. We're still struggling with the sleep issue.

I know that there are many schools of thought on sleeping, and I know that there are also many opinionated parents out there about how you should help your kids get to sleep.

We generally lay down with Reed while he falls asleep. He does not sleep in a baby bed, but sleeps in a twin bed in his room. He generally wakes up in the middle of the night and unfortunately, we have been very weak in the next part of the story.

When he wakes up, he SCREAMS and we usually end up putting him in the bed with us. That's not really what we think is best, but it is easiest! I know that's not a great reason for allowing it, but that's the truth.

I have decided that when I can explain to Reed in clear terms about how he should go to sleep, then we will become more strict about him going to bed quietly and quickly. One of the reasons why I continue to lay down with him until he goes to sleep is because since he's been home, he's grown so quickly and so much that I don't want to waste time that we have with him.

So, that's why I haven't posted. It's because I'm spending time with my baby!

Consignment Sale Success

Last night was my night to go to the consignment sale. Abbey and Reed stayed at Uncle Bill's house. We spent the night at UB's since we were down in the ritzy part of Nashvegas. That way, we didn't have to drive home late at night.

Enna and Poppy gave Reed money for his birthday so that I could buy him some clothes at the consignment sale. Since we're strictly following the Dave Ramsey plan now, that was all of the money that I had to spend.

It was actually freeing to be able to shop knowing that I only had a certain amount of money. I got some good deals. I found very little Gymboree and no Polo though!

But, I did find this adorable blue linen outfit that will be perfect for cousin Laura's wedding reception at the end of May.

I was a little worried about it because on the hanger it was right on the line of whether or not it would be girly. I ended up biting the bullet and spending the 6 buckaroos and we were thrilled when Uncle Bill ironed it and put it on Reed this morning. It was too cute.

Reed also wanted to demonstrate how he can suck his stomach in all the way to the back of his spine! How does he do that?

He loves his golf clubs but I don't think that he quite understands the sport. That's fine, because goodness knows I don't!

He is so funny.

Next, is my most favorite find at the consignment sale.

Although I, personally, am not a huge fan of the school, I guess I would have to say that it is most certainly my favorite Mississippi team! I found a cute little Mississippi State outfit. It was only $3.00 and is perfect condition.

I know that my mom and brother will certainly be thrilled to see it on him.

I didn't count how many pieces I got, but we did get a good bit of clothes for Reed, so he will be pretty much set for the summer.

At the Park

We've had the craziest weather this winter. From freezing to Springtime warm in the same week! Today was beautiful and Springish, while tomorrow is supposed to be bitter cold!

Abbey had to go to the church early tonight for a meeting, so Reed and I went to the park!

Reed loves the park, because there are slides, swings, and plenty of room to run.

Reed climbed up all of the different structures and could have cared less if I was anywhere around him.

The sun was so nice and bright today.

Reed was loving the time outside.

I love our city parks.

I just wish that there was a no smoking rule, because a few people would come around and smoke which I thought was not really appropriate around all of the kids.

Reed didn't seem to mind though, did I mention there were slides?

There was a father and son who were playing baseball and Reed was totally mesmerized by the boy hitting the baseball. One of his "foul" balls went pretty close to Reed.

Of course, he had to go and get it!

Dear Reed

Dear Reed,

How can I describe how I feel about you? You've continued to bring so much joy into my life and continue to burrow your way deeper into my heart. It seems like my heart would burst with love for you. It seems like only yesterday, I was staring at a computer screen in complete awe that God had designed you to be our son. We had no way of knowing at the time how much you would mean to us. It was only the beginning of a love story. A love story that started with so much anticipation, yet there was no way that we could have ever imagined or anticipated what having a son like you would be. You are joy, you are hope, you are inspiration. We are blown away constantly by your amazing intelligence, but even more so by your uncontainable love. You have taught me so much about life. You've changed my priorities. You've taught me to appreciate my own parents, your grandparents, and for the first time in my life I can tell you what it means when I remember their words, "I love you more than life itself." You are our sunshine, our sweet smiling boy who is silly and loves to say, "Lub you Bajuin" whenever we ask you to say "Love you daddy" just to see what my reaction will be. You love chocolate juice and grapies! You've taught us a fun new language. People sometimes ask us if you are adopted, a question which takes us by surprise, because there is no way that you could be any more our son than if you were molded directly from your mother and I. You are a product of God's grace, His amazing plan, and His divine wisdom. You are a testimony of peace, of comfort, of love, and mercy. You are God's design, an amazing miracle that we are so undeserving of. You, our son, the one who squeals with delight when you see one of your parents, your grandparents, aunts or uncles, are designed for a purpose. Your sweet prayers for Uncle Bill, Cheetos, Britton, and Doo Dahs (vacuums) remind us to be thankful for all of the blessings in our lives. You bring joy to all who know you and you create laughter all around you. Reed, you are a blessing. You are a wonderfully and fearfully created person by the Almighty Father! You have a purpose. We humbly and gratefully accept the honor of being your parents. You make my day each time you call my name. I love you Reed, I love, love, love you!

love, daddy
